A 5K Event at the Boulder Reservoir

Everyone agrees that Doggie Dash is just a ton of fun! But there is a more serious purpose behind this animal-friendly event—raising critical funds to support the animals at the Humane Society of Boulder Valley. So whether you’re running with your favorite four-legged friend or a group of two-legged friends, you can help us reach our goal of $100,000!

Raise Pledges to Support the Homeless Animals

Participants are encouraged to raise critical funds needed to help homeless, abandoned and abused shelter animals by soliciting donations from families and friends. We have a simple online donation site that makes it as easy as sending an email. Up for a little friendly competition? Have friends and family join as a team to train and raise funds together.

White Dog

Can I bring a stroller on the race course?

Absolutely! A portion of the course is dirt, so be prepared for a little “off-roading.”

Do I have to bring my dog to run or walk the course?

While you are more than welcome to bring your favorite canine companion with you, it is not a requirement. Run solo, walk with your team, or push your favorite pint-size participant in a stroller!

Do I have to run the course?

Nope! You can run, walk, or skip the course entirely! Your registration fee gains you entry into our Whole Foods Breakfast, Oskar Blues Beer Garden (over 21 only), and our Pet Expo. There is plenty of fun stuff to keep you busy all morning long, even if you skip the race course!

Is packet pick up available prior to race day?

Yes! We will have packet pick up at the shelter on Thursday, September 4th from 12noon to 5pm and on Friday, September 5th from 2pm to 7pm at our shelter located at 2323 55th Street in Boulder.

Where do I park on race day?

Reservoir staff will direct you to the appropriate parking area on race day, parking is free for Doggie Dash participants. Please arrive early to allow time to make it to the start line before we start!

Where can I store my belongings?

There are no lockers or storage areas at the Reservoir. Please leave valuables at home, but do remember that you will need your ID to enter the beer garden!
